IBAs in Danger

The BirdLife International Partnership has identified 356 Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) in Danger, these sites are spread across 102 countries and territories around the world as well as in the High Seas.

This list builds on the decades of work undertaken by our Partnership to identify and safeguard the most important sites for birds and biodiversity. These 356 sites represent a subset of the more than 12,000 IBAs and have been identified as being those under great threat and in need of immediate action.
